December 22nd, 1945 - February 5th, 2024

On February 5th, in his 79th year, Doug was finally released from the grips of dementia; his beloved family and his cherished wife of 56 years were by his side at the end. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Stowe), his two daughters Angela (Jason) Haelzle and Karen Harrison, and his loving grandchildren; Brooklyn, Owen, Lauren and Harmon. Sadly missed by his brother Ed (Jackie) Harrison, his loving sister Dorrie (Al) Gallant, brother in-law Bud Clegg and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Donna Clegg, his parents Lawrence and Lenore Harrison, and sister and brother in-law Jane (Don) Stokes and Charlene (Jim) Howie.

Together, Doug and Pat epitomized the essence of soulmates, inseparable through life’s journey. A natural conversationalist, Doug effortlessly befriended everyone he met leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. His passion for music reverberated in every step he took on the dance floor. Doug’s knack for building, whether it be decks, fences or treehouses was matched only by his willingness to involve his grandchildren in his projects.

The outpouring of support through stories and memories shared by family and friends have been a source of solace during this challenging time.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
