March 27th, 1931 - March 20th, 2023
Ruth was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 27th, 1931. She is survived by Roy, her loving husband of seventy years, daughters Cheryl (Don) and Leslie, sister Beth (Walt), and grandchildren Gord, Allie, Campbell, and Georgia. Ruth was in her 92nd year when she left us on March 20, 2023.
Ruth was a woman of faith. She cherished her relationships with church and community. Her contributions to church life at St. Andrews of Rexdale and St. James of Fergus were a very big part of who Ruth was. Her tapestry art, on display at St. James, is evidence of years of creativity shared. Ruth sang in various choirs for 67 years, and her work on the Chancel Guild was a labour of love. Receiving the Order of Niagara from the Anglican Church of Canada was a proud moment for Ruth.
Times with Grandma are remembered fondly by her grandchildren as special times of festive holiday meals and decorations, Rummikub and cards, detective stories, and crafting lessons that have carried into adulthood.
