TORONTO — Ontario reported 1,188 people in hospital with COVID-19 on Saturday, and 168 in intensive care.
That represents a slight increase from Friday, when the province reported 1,135 COVID-19 hospitalizations and 166 in ICUs.
Overall, hospitalizations have gone up about 40 per cent since last week.
The province is also reporting 10 new deaths from the virus.
Ontario recorded 3,797 new infections, down almost 12 per cent from Friday, though access to testing is limited.
The scientific director of Ontario's panel of COVID-19 advisers has said wastewater surveillance suggests daily cases are around 100,000 to 120,000.
Saturday's test positivity rate was 18.4 per cent down from 19 per cent Friday.
