18-year-old arrested in connection with suspicious early-August fire

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has concluded the investigation of a suspicious fire that occurred on Davison Place, Fergus. As a result, an 18-year-old Fergus resident has been charged with Arson contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, at a later date.

On Aug. 1, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a utility trailer that was on fire at an address on Davison Place, Fergus. Centre Wellington Fire Rescue attended and extinguished the fire. The trailer, and a nearby fence and shed were damaged in the fire. There were no injuries.
