After thefts from unlocked vehicles: police say lock it or lose it

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding the public to always lock their vehicles after overnight thefts occurred from unlocked videos in Rockwood.  

On Aug. 30, 2022, the Wellington County OPP responded to two reports of unlocked vehicles being entered sometime overnight at residences in the town of Rockwood. Sunglasses, change and documents were stolen by unknown person(s). 

To help prevent future incidents, the Wellington County OPP would like to remind everyone about the Lock It or Lose It campaign. It is a crime prevention program that reminds the public to lock their vehicles, and to not leave any valuables or keys inside the vehicle. These steps will help reduce the motivation and likelihood of property crimes. If you do suspect that your vehicle has been entered, please report it. You can now also file a report online at www.opp.ca.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents should contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
