Arrest made after items stolen same business on 2 occasions

One person is facing criminal charges after the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a local business regarding a break and enter.

On Sept. 21, 2022, the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a break and enter at a business on St. David Street North, Fergus. It was reported that on Sept. 15, 2022 and Sept. 20, 2022, containers on the property were broken into and several items were stolen. Video footage of the two incidents was provided to officers, and a suspect was identified.

As a result of the investigation, Laura Jane Davis, 41 years old of Stratford, has been charged with break, enter a place - commit indictable offence and with theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph at a later date.
