COUNTY OF WELLINGTON — In September 2023, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) began an investigation into reported sexual assaults that occurred between 1961 and 1984 at a residence in the County of Wellington. As a result, two individuals have been charged.
Murray F. Richards, 89 years old of Centre Wellington, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Gross indecency (nine counts)
- Gross indecency (three counts)
- Indecent assault on a Female (eight counts)
- Sexual assault
- Assault
- Forcible confinement
Ruth E. Richards, 85 years old of Centre Wellington, has been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:
- Assault
- Forcible confinement
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph, on March 8.
