Drug investigation leads to charges in Wellington North

WELLINGTON NORTH – The Ontario Provincial Police say they have charged two people in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Wellington County.

On Feb. 20, the Community Street Crime Unit of the Wellington County OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on George Street in Arthur.

Investigators also executed a search warrant at an address on Pioneer Drive in Kitchener and at John Carpenter Way in North Dumfries.

As a result, a firearm was seized, and two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges, police said in a news release.

Cory Robert Windlinger, 31, of Kitchener, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule I substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule I substance (opioid, other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking, and  two counts of possession of a schedule I substance (other) for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the controlled drugs and substances act. further, the accused was also charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to the Criminal Code.

Justin James Frederick Williams-Galley, 28, of Wellington North, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the controlled drugs and substances act.

Both were held for bail, police said.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
