On Sept. 16, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles at Wellington Road 16 and Line 2, near Damascus. Initial reports indicated that two pickup trucks had collided, and that one driver had suffered serious injuries.
OPP, Wellington North Fire Service and Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended the scene. One driver was transported to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries, the other driver was treated at scene.
The cause of the collision is being investigated. The roadway was closed for approximately six hours.
