A Hamilton couple face more than two dozen charges following a series of Guelph residential break-ins while the homeowners were sleeping. Similar break-ins were also reported in Hamilton, Wellington County and in Niagara Region.

On March 24, four residences in south Guelph were entered in the early morning hours while the owners were sleeping. An Audi SUV was stolen from one of the homes, and property from the Audi was later discovered near an abandoned Toyota SUV which had been stolen during a break-in at a Hamilton home.

Guelph police conducted an investigation that led them to a Hamilton address where two parties were observed in the stolen Audi. That information was passed onto Hamilton Police Service who continued the investigation. On March 27th members of the Hamilton Police Service stopped the vehicle and arrested the two occupants.

A 30-year-old Hamilton man and 33-year-old Hamilton woman face a long list of charges and will eventually be returned to Guelph to be arrested in relation to those incidents.
