Intimate partner violence investigation results in charges: police

A 31-year-old from Wellington North is facing charges after Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a disturbance at a residence April 9 in Mount Forest where it was reported an individual had committed offences related to intimate partner violence, according to a news release.

As a result of the investigation, a suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon - spousal, mischief - domestic and theft under $5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph at a later date.
