MOUNT FOREST - On Nov. 6, 2022 at approximately 4 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in progress.
It was reported that the victim was being assaulted by an unknown person in a parking lot on Sligo Road West, Mount Forest. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Officers were able to locate and arrest the person involved.
As a result of the investigation, Raymond Lloyd Cote, 31 years old of Mount Forest, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and resist peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Guelph, at a later date.
