The Wellington County OPP released its list of recent notable traffic offences:
On Nov. 22, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a silver Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) on Highway 6, Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old driver from Tobermory, has been charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (C.A.I.A.). The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 23, 2023, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Centre Wellington. At approximately 1:15 p.m., a blue S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old driver from Mississauga has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.) The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Jan. 24, 2024.
On Nov. 23, 2023, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a blue sedan on Flannery Drive, Fergus. As a result of an investigation, a 29-year-old driver from Shelburne, has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Use Plate not Authorized, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.

As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old driver from Hanover, has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Use Plate not Authorized, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. and Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act (C.C.A.) The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 24, 2023, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Victoria Road North, Guelph/Eramosa. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a red sedan entered the check. As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old from Guelph has been charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired (80 Plus), contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Dec. 15, 2023.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a blue coupe on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Brampton has been charged with three counts of Operation while Prohibited, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Jan. 16, 2024.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Wellington County OPP stopped the drive of a blue pick-up truck on Main Street South, Rockwood. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old from Rockwood has been charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired (80 Plus), contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Dec. 12, 2023.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a silver sedan on Wellington Road 42, Erin. As a result of an investigation, a 74-year-old driver from Dunnville has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.

As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old driver from Mount Forest has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle - no Currently Validated Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a white sedan on highway 23, Minto. As a result of an investigation, a 40-year-old driver from Northern Bruce Peninsula has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a purple sedan on Tucker Street, Arthur. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old driver from Guelph has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act (L.L.C.A.). The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on March 6, 2024.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., a grey S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old driver from Brampton has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and with Class G1 Licence Holder - Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 25, 2023, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Halnon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a red sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 70km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old driver from Guelph has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and with Driver Fail to Surrender Licence, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 25, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Wellington Road 8, Mapleton. It was reported a grey van was in the ditch. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old driver from Listowel has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 26, 2023, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Halnon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:30 a.m., a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 70km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old driver from Ancaster has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on March 6, 2024.
On Nov. 26, 2023, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Wellington County OPP stopped the drive of a white sedan on Highway 6, Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Emira has been charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired (80 Plus), contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, the driver was also charged with Speeding and Notice Driver - Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) Above Zero, Contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and Person under 19-Years consuming Liquor, contrary to the L.L.C.A. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Dec. 12, 2023.
On Nov. 27, 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Sideroad 17, Erin. It was reported a grey sedan had been involved in a roll-over and the driver suffered minor injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old from Barrie has been charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired (80 Plus), contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on Dec. 12, 2023.
On Nov. 27, 2023, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Blind Line, Minto. At approximately 2:30 a.m., a white sedan entered the check. As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old from Durham has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further the driver was charged with three counts of Driving while Under Suspension, Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner and Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The accused was held for bail.
