On Jan. 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a silver Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old driver from Moorefield has been charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and with Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on April 17.
On Jan. 5, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 12, Mapleton. At approximately 9:30 p.m., a black SUV was observed travelling well above the posted 80 km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old driver from Linwood has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, contrary to the HTA. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on April 17.
On Jan. 6 at approximately 8 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black SUV on St. David Street North, Fergus. As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old driver from Fergus has been charged with Permit Motor Vehicle to be Operated without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on April 17.
On Jan. 7 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported a collision on Wellington Road 26, Centre Wellington. It was reported that a grey coupe and blue sedan had collided and that both drivers had suffered injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old from Acton has been charged with Operation while Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Jan. 26.
On Jan. 8 at approximately 5 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a pink pickup truck on Stone Road East, Guelph/Eramosa. As a result of the investigation a, 35-year-old driver from Fergus has been charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Improper Means of Attachment, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on April 17.
On Jan. 9 at approximately 8:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a grey SUV on Queen Street , Palmerston. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Minto has been charged with Operation while Impaired over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Jan. 30.
