Four late-model Dodge Rams stolen from Fergus residences

Police say the thefts happened between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. and involved newer model Dodge Ram 1500 trucks

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of four pickup trucks from residences in the town of Fergus.

On Aug. 28, 2022, the Wellington County OPP responded to four separate reports of Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks being stolen from residences in Fergus. The thefts occurred between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. A person of interest was seen in the area and is described as thin build wearing all black with a reddish hat/toque. The stolen vehicles and license plates are listed below: 

  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Grey Sport with license plate BN88315
  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Silver Big Horn with license plate BL82705
  • 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Silver Sport with license plate BB83541
  • 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Black Sport with license plate AN96683

The vehicles were all locked and the keys were all accounted for. The Wellington County OPP would like to remind everyone that if your vehicle uses a proximity key then you need to take extra steps to protect your vehicle such as parking the vehicle in a garage, storing the key in a protective pouch or as far away from the exterior of your residence as possible. You can visit Crime Stoppers Guelph-Wellington Project Lockdown for more information on how to prevent vehicle thefts.
