Police locate stolen vehicle, charge Mount Forest resident with theft

The vehicle was reported stolen on Main Street North in Mount Forest, police say; 20-year-old accused is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime

On Jan. 21, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Main Street North, Mount Forest. 

Officers were able to locate the vehicle, and as a result of the investigation, Chester Lewis, 20, Mount Forest has been charged with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Drive motor vehicle - no license, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
