Rockwood senior charged in October collision that injured four

Incident happened on Highway 6 north of Guelph; one person was airlifted to a trauma centre

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA On Oct. 8, 2022, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on Highway 6 at Wellington Road 22, north of the City Guelph. Initial reports indicated that a red sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a grey SUV had collided and that there were multiple occupants injured.

OPP, Guelph Fire Department, Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service, and Ornge Air Ambulance attended the scene. One was air lifted to a trauma centre with potentially life-threatening [injuries] and three were transported to a local hospital.  

As a result of the investigation, a 78-year-old of Rockwood has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. The defendant is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court in Guelph on April 5.
