FERGUS – Wellington County OPP are advising Fergus residents to be cautious when visiting local parks after shards of glass and broken pottery were found buried in the sand at a local park.

Police say they were called to investigate a mischief that occurred sometime overnight at a park on Churchill Crescent East in Fergus.

On Thursday police responded to a report that several pieces of broken glass and pottery had been found buried in the sand at Webster Park.

The park will be closed for several hours as Centre Wellington Township park staff ensure that all hazards have been removed and that the park is safe to use.
