Thieves try to enter Rockwood home with keys stolen from vehicle

$600 worth of items was stolen from unlocked vehicles in Rockwood, OPP say

ROCKWOOD – The Wellington County OPP is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects in connection with vehicles being broken into in Rockwood on the weekend.

In one instance, doorbell camera footage shows the thieves attempting to gain entry to a residence using a set of keys that was stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway.

Police responded to multiple reports of vehicle entries which occurred overnight on Juniper Street and Drenters Court in Rockwood on Oct. 15.

Video surveillance obtained showed three people entering multiple vehicles in the area at around 2 a.m.

All the vehicles entered were unlocked and no damage to any of the vehicles was reported.

Approximately $600 worth of miscellaneous items was stolen, police said in a news release.
