Thieves withdraw ATM from business in Erin

Automated teller machine containing around $1,800 stolen by two suspects driving pickup

Thieves made off with an automated teller machine containing $1,800 in an early-morning break-in at a business on Main Street in Erin, police say.

Wellington County OPP are asking for the public's assistance regarding the theft.

The break-in took place on Jan. 13 at around 1:30 a.m., police said in a news release.

One suspect was reported as appearing to be a Caucasian male. He was wearing a black balaclava, black hooded jacket, black pants, tan coloured construction boots with black toes, and light coloured gloves with black grip. 

The second suspect was reported as appearing to be a Caucasian male wearing a tan-coloured heavy coat. He wore grey coloured camouflage pants, black winter/insulated boots and light coloured gloves with black grip. 

An associated vehicle is described as a dark coloured, four-door pickup truck with a construction light on the roof. 

The Wellington County OPP is asking any person with further information regarding this incident to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. 

Investigators are also asking people at surrounding businesses and residences to check for any video footage that possibly captured the suspects or associated vehicle.
