Traffic stop leads to impaired driving charge

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Sept. 9, 2021 at approximately 1:55 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment received a report of a possible impaired driver on Wellington Road 17 west of Highway 6.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired and placed them under arrest.

As a result of the investigation Adam Konkle, 41 years old of South Bruce, has been charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drug.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Oct. 5, 2021.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
