Two suspects sought after $4,500 worth of items reported stolen

Officers responded to a Tower Street South business on the afternoon of July 5

On July 5, 2023 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft from a business on Tower Street South, Fergus. It was reported that at approximately 3:30 p.m., two unknown persons attended the business and took approximately $4,500 worth of merchandise without attempting to pay for it.

The Wellington County OPP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the two individuals. They are described as a male, 20-30 years old, with a goatee, white graphic t-shirt, black shorts with red trim, and back trainers with white trim and a female, 20-30 years old, long dark brown/black hair, wearing a black polka-dot wrap dress and sandals.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
