TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - Wellington County OPP are actively investigating a pair of vehicle thefts in Fergus and would like the public to review surveillance footage of a person of interest. Surveillance has captured an individual attempting to open a car door near where and when the vehicle thefts had occurred.
On the morning of Oct. 10, 2023, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of two vehicle thefts in Fergus. A pickup truck was stolen from a residence on Harper Crescent and recovered on Strathallan Street and a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) was stolen from a residence on Gzowski and recovered on St. Andrew Street East.
Investigators are asking anyone who suspects their vehicle was entered or has information regarding this incident to call Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
