Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has consolidated and streamlined notable traffic offences with a single release.

On Jan. 11, a member of the Wellington County OPP monitoring traffic on Highway 6 South, Guelph. At approximately 9:00 p.m., the driver of a silver sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80 km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation a, 32-year-old driver from Guelph, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed and with Plate not Authorized for Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on April 17.

On Jan, 23, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Sixth Line, Nichol Township. At approximately 9:30 a.m., the driver of a red coupe was stopped. As result the investigation, a 23-year-old driver from Fergus has been charged with Driving While Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle Without a Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court Guelph on May 15.

On Jan. 24, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Concession 1, Puslinch. At approximately 10:15 a.m., the driver of a white minivan was observed traveling above the posted speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old driver from Kitchener, has been charged with Driving While Under Suspension and with Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 24, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic in a Community Safety Zone on Brock Road South, Puslinch. At approximately 2:15 p.m., the driver of a blue sport utility vehicle was observed traveling well above the posted 50 km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old driver from Toronto, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Performed Stunt - Community Zone contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 25 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington. It was reported that a white sedan had struck a home. As a result of the investigation, a 50-year-old from Guelph, has been charged with Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation -  Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Feb. 9.

On Jan. 26 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 9, Minto. At approximately 9:00 a.m., driver of a grey hatchback was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old driver from Listowel, was charged with Operating Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 26 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Maltby Road West, Puslinch. At approximately 5:00 p.m., the driver of a white sport utility vehicle was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 26, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. It was reported that two vehicles were involved and that there were no injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old of Harriston, has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Feb. 6.

On Jan. 27 members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on St. Andrew Street West, Fergus. At approximately 2:00 a.m., the driver of a black pickup truck was stopped. As a result of the investigation a 25-year-old of Fergus, was charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus contrary to the Criminal Code. The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on Feb. 6.

On Jan. 27 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Mapleton. Approximately 8:15 p.m., the driver of an orange sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old driver from Hamilton, was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Further, the driver was also charged with G1 License Holder - Unaccompanied by a Qualified Driver, Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle, Drive Motor Vehicle - No Currently Validated Permit, and Failed to Apply for Permit upon Becoming Owner contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 28 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington. At approximately 2 p.m., the driver of a yellow school bus was stopped. As a result of the investigation a, 27-year-old driver from Toronto, was charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Further, the driver was also charged with Use Plate Not in Accordance with the Act contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph, on May 15.

On Jan. 29 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Garafraxa Street West, Fergus. At approximately 4:30 a.m., the driver of a blue pickup truck was observed driving with a flashing green light activated. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old driver from Fergus, has been charged with Improper Use of a Green Flashing Light and with Fail to Have a Valid Insurance Card, contrary to the Highway Traffic act.

On Jan. 30 a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Highway 89, Wellington North. At approximately 9:45 a.m., the driver of a white sedan was observed traveling well above the posted 80 km/hr speed limit. As result of the investigation a, 27-year-old driver from Orangeville, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court - Guelph on May 15.
