The club boasts a team of highly experienced and certified instructors, including one with over 20 years of experience teaching squash, tennis, table tennis and badminton. The Head Squash Pro is a Level III certified provincial coach with nearly two decades of teaching experience.

"We see ourselves as 'the place' in Centre Wellington to learn, play and improve in squash and tennis," Desbarres said. "Our experienced teaching pros cater to players of all levels, providing a conducive environment for beginners and seasoned players to thrive."

Try before you commit

For those curious about what Centre Wellington Racquets offers, there's an attractive one-month trial membership for just $40 plus tax.

During this trial period, you'll enjoy all the benefits of a full membership, including access to the club's six courts, the weight room, cardio area, change rooms and sauna. Moreover, with full memberships, children aged 16 and under can join for free under an adult's membership.

A New Era

Since Oct. 1, 2019, Centre Wellington Racquets has been under new ownership, and the changes are evident. The owners have invested significantly in renovating the interior and exterior of the club. 

Renovations include a new lounge, updated social areas, modernized cardio equipment, an improved gym, upgraded change rooms and revitalized saunas. 

Two tennis courts have been resurfaced and now feature lines for four outdoor pickleball courts.

"It's new owners. New focus. New energy,” Desbarres said.
