LETTER: Why can't you just walk in to a walk-in clinic?

Reader asks if local clinic can open earlier, close later, or have more than one doctor in attendance

EloraFergusToday received the following letter to the editor from reader Marjorie Gray.

Why is it still called a walk-in clinic when you need an appointment to be seen?

Also, you need to dial, dial, dial (my last attempt was 101 times). It was at 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. and guess what, you're right, they were full.

My day ended up in the hospital emergency room from 5:30 p.m. until midnight.

There has to be something else that can be done to solve this problem.

Can the clinic be opened earlier, closed later, or have more than one doctor in attendance?

Don't get me wrong, I appreciated having "The Clinic" in our town, but something has to change when you attend the hospital emergency room after not getting into the clinic at 5:30 p.m. to find it full.

Reaching out to everyone for their input.
