Only minor injuries reported in single vehicle collision west of Guelph.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Wellington OPP are investigating a single vehicle collision west of Guelph that burned up a car Thursday afternoon. 

A photo posted to social media by OPP West Region showed a burned up sedan by a tree and text indicating Wellington OPP are investigating the incident in Guelph/Eramosa.

Wellington OPP responded with Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services.

Steven Goode, deputy chief of operations for Guelph Fire Department, said the call came in around 12:45 p.m. to 5080 Township Rd. 1 for a single vehicle collision. 

He explained a car had entered a ditch and hit a tree where it caught fire. 

The lone occupant of the vehicle had just minor injuries but the car was destroyed. 

Goode said he wasn't sure why the car left the roadway and Wellington OPP couldn't share further details when contacted.
