ERIN – The Erin Blitz is still looking for a win after losing at home to Elora over the weekend.

The Blitz, one of the Western Ontario Super Hockey League’s (WOSHL) four new teams this season, held its home opener at the Erin Centre 2000 on Saturday against returning league champions Elora Rocks.

While it wasn’t as much of a blowout as when the two teams met weeks prior, the Rocks handily took home the win with a score of 8-2 on Saturday night.

The night started on a positive note in the first period for Erin as teammate Hayden Ireland scored the first goal of the night but Elora answered back with eight straight through the first two periods.

The lone goal of the third by Erin’s Daniel Heelis was not enough to catch-up.

Elora remains undefeated so far after three games but Erin is winless after the two match-ups against the Rocks.

Elora are back at home on Friday against the Delhi Flames, another team new to the WOSHL.

Erin will try again for a win on the road against fellow newcomers the Tilbury Bluebirds on Saturday.
