Eric Walter Giesel, 63 years of Elora, ON passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 20, 2023.
Father of Tyler (Alicia Savage). Son of Ann Giesel and the late Grant Giesel (2004). Brother to Jim (Diane) Giesel, Jeff Giesel and Sandra Lynn Giesel. Special uncle to Victoria, Tavis, Nicole, Chelsea, Tom and Carly, and great uncle to Summer. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his brother Johnny (1961) and his grandparents, Walter and Gretel Giesel and John and Elizabeth Schenk.
Eric had a very successful 38 year career in Environmental Services with the University of Guelph. He was a wonderful father, raising his son on his own for many years. He was an avid reader of science fiction. He was a talented artist, carving and sketching amazing dinosaurs and creatures. Elora was the town of his heart and he would walk everywhere. He was a man of few words, but loved his family, friends and community with his whole heart. He will be greatly missed.
As Eric was a proud and longstanding member of the Elora Legion, donations in his memory may be made to Branch 229, and are much appreciated by his family.
