One man is dead following a head-on crash between two snowmobiles in Georgian Bay Township Friday night.
Emergency crews were called to an ice surface waterway known as Lost Channel, northeast of Big Chute, at around 9:50 p.m.
OPP say EMS traversed dense bush and bog conditions during a three and a half hour land based rescue to reach the scene.
A 52-year-old Erin man was pronounced deceased at a nearby marina. The other driver, a 50-year-old Puslinch man, was found uninjured near the crash site.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the collision.
